Course Info & Map

The Alaska Airlines Bay to Breakers 12K race runs west through the city and finishes at the Great Highway along the Pacific Coast’s Ocean Beach. Participants run up the iconic Hayes Street Hill, along the Panhandle and through Golden Gate Park, while the city of San Francisco cheers them on.

 

Please note the course will be closed at Chain of Lakes Drive in Golden Gate Park at 12:30 PM on race day. All participants not past this point at this time will be directed to Fulton or Lincoln Ave.

The Finish Line will officially close at 1:00 PM. All participants who have not crossed the finish line at this point will not receive a Finisher Medal.

Sutter health cpmc breakers bonus

In 2018, we introduced the Sutter Health CPMC Breakers Bonus, an all new way to experience race day. With the Bonus, runners can now increase their run distance from a 12k to 15k!

BONUS runners will receive:

  • An extra 3k to your run (pushing your run to a 15k in length)
  • An exclusive BONUS medal (in addition to the standard Finisher Medal)
  • A drink ticket good for one Angel City Brewery beer at the Finish Line Festival beer garden 
  • BONUS entertainment in the final 3k to motivate you to the finish line

The infamous Hayes Hill (pictured above) is one of the most notorious hills in all of racing.
