RACE DAY IN
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Participants are encouraged to use public transportation or shuttles to get to the start line of Bay to Breakers. For those that need to drive, parking near the start line of the race is limited but available in the Financial and South of Market (SoMa) districts.
BART (special race day BART schedule to be posted soon!) – The Embarcadero BART Station has access to the following BART lines and is located only two blocks from the start line:
Blue (Daly City, Dublin-Pleasanton)
Green (Daly City, Berryessa-North San Jose)
Red (Richmond, Millbrae)
Yellow (Antioch, SFO Intl Airport)
MUNI – The following light rail lines access the Embarcadero Station located only two blocks from the start line:
J – Church
K – Ingleside
L – Taraval
M – Ocean View
N – Judah

Caltrain (special race day Caltrain schedule coming soon!) – The San Francisco Caltrain Station is located a
30-minute walk from the Start Line. Please reference the updated Bay to Breakers race day schedule to plan your trip.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
BOOK YOUR RACE DAY SHUTTLE
Participants can now purchase shuttle tickets!
Official event shuttle options are offered for both round-trip and post-race transfers. Click the link below to find the express pick-up locations being offered.
All tickets must be purchased online in advance to race Sunday. This is the fastest and most convenient way to get out of the finish line area. Avoid the lines, reserve your individual seat today, and leave getting to/from the event to us.
Round Trip - $30 + service fee
🚌 Millbrae Park & Ride (South Bay)
Pick-up: 6:30-7:00 AM
Location: Millbrae BART Station (129 Garden Ln, Millbrae, CA)
Return: 11:30 AM-12:00 PM at Great Hwy & Fulton St.
🚌 Emeryville Park & Ride (East Bay)
Pick-up: 6:30-7:00 AM
Location: Emeryville Train Station (Horton St.)
Return: 11:30 AM-12:00 PM at Great Hwy & Fulton St.
🚌 Mill Valley Park & Ride (North Bay)
Pick-up: 6:30-7:00 AM
Location: Manzanita Parking Lot (Shoreline Hwy)
Return: 11:30 AM-12:00 PM at Great Hwy & Fulton St.
🚗 Parking not included. Follow posted parking rules.
Post-Race - $18 + service fee
🚍 Return to BART Express (Embarcadero Station)
Pick-up: 9:30 AM-12:30 PM at Great Hwy & Fulton St.
🚍 Return to Downtown Express (Spear St. & Mission St.)
Pick-up: 9:30 AM-12:30 PM at Great Hwy & Fulton St.
DROP-OFF ZONE
Many roads surrounding the start line area will be closed, and/or greatly impacted by our presence. We do not recommend being dropped off by a vehicle. If you must be dropped off, use The Embarcadero as a drop-off point.
